In 2015, I found myself in a really dark place... The anxiety was getting worse by the day and my post-traumatic stress disorder had become harder and harder to confine. I knew that I needed to make a change before it was too late.
It started with a spiritual journey. I began meditating and working out regularly. While on this mental sabbatical I was drawn into researching African American history. It was during this time that I came across the teachings of the late Dr. Sebi. From the moment I heard his voice, my soul said listen... and I did! I absorbed myself in his practices day in and day out.
I felt my body transforming from the inside out. From the way, I looked to the way I felt. My skin was clearer. My mind more alert. My energy level at an all-time high. Not to mention, my anxiety and PTSD seemingly nonexistent.
During this all, my father was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He suffered from unbearable pain that was refractory to all of the medications and analgesics that his doctors had prescribed him. I couldn't stand watching him go through this torture. I felt futile. It was then that I realized it was time for some holistic healing. I began making his organic fruit and vegetable smoothies infused with some of Dr. Sebi’s herbs along with some of my own alkaline herbs and elements I thought would be beneficial.
To say that the smoothies helped my father's pain is an understatement. Even his doctors were in disbelief. Since then, I began creating my own alkaline-based compounds and introduced it to me and my family's daily regime. Everyone I knew asked about my smoothies and supplements until I eventually found myself with a long list of routine clients- ranging from cancer patients, postmenopausal women, people suffering from chronic pain, and arthritic ailments, to those that simply wanted a trustworthy supplement without all of the unnecessary additives. Naturally Lyfted was founded in 2017.
